Guided imagery is an increasingly popular practice used in a wide range of settings, from relaxation through to hypnoanestheasia. This book is a thorough account of the best possible practice using guided imagery. It’s main focus tends to be work with people who are fighting cancer although it’s practices and advice is global and generic. I found it to be a really interesting book and having had 16 years experience of providing relaxation training within a mental health setting I wished that I had read this book years ago.

In the end it didn’t give me much more than I already knew although it did provide me with some food for thought. To a person who is new to the use of guided imagery then I would certainly recommend it.

It is a book that can easily be used as a manual where whole sections can be missed without losing the essence of what the book is about.
